STRAB MISSING A YEAR

Here on the 17th anniversary of the 1st Jack Hammer party in Ponta Malongane, with mixed feelings, we will be making history again.  For the 1st time in STRAB’s history, we will unfortunately be missing a year.

After the most recent government announcement, where the country was moved down to stage 2, with all the regulations involved, we have decided to postpone STRAB to 26 – 30 May 2021, primarily due to the fact that we do not foresee that the Kosi Bay border will be open coming October.

We will therefore put all our energy into organising the May festival.

So how will this impact all of you?

Firstly and most importantly, all current ticket holders’ tickets will be honored for the May 2021 festival, with no price increase. 

Due to the fact that we will in effect organise STRAB for the 3rd time with continues incurring costs since STRAB 2019 ended, we had to make some changes to the cancellation policy to ensure that we can bring you the best STRAB ever in 2021:

The following will be coming into effect:

  • Cancellations received between now and Sunday 23 August – 90% refund. 
  • Cancellations received between 24 August and 26 April – 50% refund.
  • Cancellations received between 27 April and the festival – no refund.
  • In the event you need to cancel your ticket at any time during this period but you can find someone to take your place, the 10% admin fee will apply.
  • Please note that the booking system will close for now on 23 August 2020

But that is not all!
For those of you that are prepared to cancel your tickets for 2020 (whether you can attend next year or not) and waive your refund, you will receive a commemorative “STRAB 2020 – the lost year” T-shirt with the STRAB 2020 design.  We aim to put all the names of the donors on the T-shirt.  This will be a special once off T-shirt edition that you can wear with pride!   These donations will play an important role in getting STRAB ready for 2021, as well as, support for the bands that were scheduled to play at STRAB2020 and who subsequently had a very tough year.   In the end STRAB is all about supporting our bands and for you to have fun!

In order to enable this, we will open the booking system for you a week before the official 1 March opening. 

Those donors that decide to cancel their tickets for donation purposes, but still plan to attend STRAB 2021, your ticket will still be on your name at that stage to confirm.

Those donors that cancel your tickets due to the fact that you cannot attend May next year, but due to circumstance by March next year decided you want to attend, you will have an opportunity to buy tickets before the bookings open on 1 March.
